Self Care

What do you think about when you think of self care? Maybe a nice bath with bath salts and a nice drink. Or a walk near the water with your dog. Or maybe a nice day reading on a rainy day.
What I think about is all of the above. But I also think about the "care" part, probablly a little bit more than I should. I see cooking as self care, and eating what you've cooked, to fuel your body. I see excerise as self care, moving your body to allow it to become stronger and build stamina.
Seeing friends and family is also a form of self care. This shows you that there are people that love and care about you. Which is important, if you're a hermit like me and tend to forget.
Another form of self care is learning to be kind to yourself. If you're anything like me, it can be super easy to be self critical. But, as most people have told you, if you wouldn't say it to your friend, why say it to yourself? List out gratitude, a small reflection of something you did well that day, or look in the mirror and tell yourself you are beautiful and smart. Someday it'll sink in, it just might take a while.
Self care comes in all forms, so take a moment and figure out what it means to you. Then, implement those things into your daily and weekly and monthly routines. You will
thank you.
